"some files could not be scanned"
« on: May 27, 2012, 10:05:02 AM »
When I do a Full Scan, it ends with Avast stating "some files could not be scanned".
There's a button at the bottom to take action (Move to Chest), but the button is not active - clicking on it does nothing - it is "grayed out" in effect - i.e., the button is not operable to take action.

It lists the files, but does a poor job of it - it only gives a partial name of most of them, and I have no idea what they are.
Worse, I have no idea what action Avast feels I should take.

It doesn't say at the end of the scan "No virus found", only "some files could not be scanned".

???

Should the "Take Action" button be working, to move these files to the Chest?

Suggestions? Interpretation?

(Avast Free; Windows 7 Home Premium).

it s just a scan error report..... files that can not be scanned is not a detection....so no action can be taken

files that can not be scanned are just that,  does not mean they are infected

avast is just reporting what and why
if you add a screenshot we may give you more info
