So far so good and my testing results coming together nicely.. I uninstalled avast 7 yesterday like i said above.. and well no bsods at all.. by this time yesterday my computer had already crashed.. I am starting to think avast really was the main cause of the crashes because it seemed like after avast updated it caused a bsod to happen. I really love avast's antivirus product this is the very first time avast ever given me any trouble.  :-\

I sense that the new release is near.

Have you browsed through event viewer at around the time the BSOD happened to see if you can locate any additional info?

What about installing avast but disabling self defense? Just an experiment. Curiosity has got hold of me.

It's up to you. It's better than having no protection.

I did disable it once when i had the crash and found out it was self defense. and my computer still had a crash.. I tried downgrading to avast 6 but it the version 6 installer told me that the files in the installer is out of date and it begin to download avast 7 installer..  i hope a new version of fix the problems i had with avast 7 if it doesn't i don't know.. if i should stay with avast or switch to another. :-[

to use avast v6, i think u need to download the old installer, off internet and install. this should force it to install v6.

If you get a bsod next time (or any other member here), it's better to let us know (e.g. send me a PM).
Your crash was caused by a bug in aswsp.sys driver (antirootkit part), I think it was already fixed.

Hello,
I have checked your minidump file and the problem is caused by memory corruption - not avast.\

I still think it was avast 7 because since i removed it i have had no computer crashes (YET)
