Avast keeps turning off

I have notice lately (I think after the last upgrade. that my avast keeps shutting itself off. I have ran a boot time scan with negative results. I read on another thread that if there is any files in the logs with .unp** that they might have something to do with it.. I have several of those. .
Can someone help me please..

Are you using the latest stable version 8.0.1488 http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=122948.0 that was released late last night? I'd suggest a clean installation if you have further problems after updating.

thanks for the advice,, so far seems to have worked. i wonder though why I didn't get the upgrade automatically?

latest version was released 3 days ago...
the auto updates is spread over 2-3 weeks to avoid server overload

Program updates are set to 'ask' by default so you need to do it manually.
