This is getting better.  Upgraded my console and now it installed the client on my server automatically without asking and there is no uninstall.

Problem description:
When the customer is using "old" SBC console and the new v7 client on the same computer then after computer restart the SBC console refuses license. It then affect also the client who receives license from the console.
This issue appears only for customers with new console and old client on the same computer. It doesn't affect old client+old console, new console+new client.

Problem analyses:
It's caused by the incompatibility of license utility interface in the new client.

Problem solution:
The problem has been fixed in client and the updated client will be released soon (tomorrow morning).
The problem can be also fixed by upgrading of the SBC console itself to v7 version. http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_console_epsp.exe

I just hung up the phone with a reseller.  He has a client using avast! Pro 7, and 2 of the computers auto upgraded to Endpoint Protection.  The license file was now expired. We reinserted the license file, and it showed licensed.  Then 1/2 hour later, it is expired again.  Removed, reinstalled 7 Pro, and installation auto upgrades to Endpoint again, reinsertred license file, and good for 1/2 hour.

Does anyone understand what is going on here? Why would avast! 7 Pro upgrade to endpoint?  This issue is breaking functioning systems.

@edj - yes, the update of the console v7 fixes the problem.

@all - the link provided by edj is the final build of the console. We are sorry for inconvenience caused by this licensing issue. We'll roll out client update that fixes it completely.

@JR - avast pro  can't update to Endpoint (or at least shouldn't). Could you sent me more details in email (screenshots and setup.log welcomed)
Quality is also a feature.

Props to edj for linking us to the correct build to install. My version 6 server upgraded to 7 without major issues thus far.

Dear Ed,

Thank you for your input and your links:  http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_console_epsp.exe

"This updates your console to ASOA 1.2.2.8 and your ABP/ABPP licenses file is valid."

SOA installed over SBC in 5 minutes, in 10 minutes I was managing systems.  It used the existing license file transparently, I had to do nothing!

Way fantastic guys! SBC is like Vista, it had to exist so the next version could be so good!

I have the same problem on 3 machines and tried to apply the ASOA update to verion 1.0.888.19 of the Avast Business Protection but it left me without a usable admin page :(  What is my next step, luckily it is running in a virtual machine so rolled back to before the update and disabled automatic program update for all users.

Thank you, after the installation of ASOA and a new deployment of the clients afterwards, my customers are able to receive email again! :D Unfortunatetly a lot of mails got lost and I wasn't able to find or restore them yet. Has anyone an idea where I could find those Mails?

OK... looks like after re-deploying and waiting overnight, it did finally pick up the license. Hopefully the new build will eliminate that hassle. Will test it when I can.

I too am VERY MAD that Avast would choose to Push out a major version release as an "update".  We should have been given the option to deploy this manually, not as a "client update". These types of decisions are what keep us resellers from introducing Avast to larger customers.

This is just another reason for us to consider switching our clients to a different anti-virus product.  I'm rapidly losing faith that Avast will ever have the right support & attitude to compete with the "big boys" like Symantec's Endpoint Protection. Disappointing.

Thanks for wasting my night & personal time!  >:(
