Yes, you are not the only person experiencing this.  I expect this patch ASAP.  The good thing is all is working and protecting in my instance. I expect this patch to be in the VPS update momentarily.

after my edit, i ran the avast enterprise administration setup again and i have no option to choose for a location to put the mirror files
i have choosen again to do a custom setup

where is this expert setting that you speak of?

I can't find this setting to relocate the mirror either. In fact, despite selecting custom (within setup_exterprise_epsp.exe: 22,583 KB), there were no options available at all.

I ran this as a clean install on a fresh copy of Server 2003.

Stephen

I know the AEA mirror will not update without this patch:

Mirror patch for avast Enterprise Administration console (AEA)..

Please do the following:
1 - locate the following file in the installation of AEA - ..mirror\lighttpd\conf\lighttpd-inc.conf
2 - re-name lighttpd-inc.conf to lighttpd-incold.conf just to make a backup file.
3 - copy attached lighttpd-inc.conf file to that location.
4 - restart mirror service.

You have to apply the mirror patch in all the installations until AVAST Software delivers an AEA update.

email me if you need this file.  The system won't let me attach the file.  J.R.
Sincerely,

Hi all,
I have a question about migration/upgrade from ADNM to AEA. ADNM is running on Win 2003 now. We are planning to buy new server infrastructure and I would like to upgrade our Avast installation to AEA and migrate it into new environment (Win 2008R2). I was unable to find any information about this.

Thanks

If you are using ADNM now, you already know 90% of ADNM2, and may want to wait for that version to be released with its final patch for the mirror.  It can be installed today, Ed has the URL for the patch, and you will have to apply it.  AEA is the same reliable code from ADNM, with the added features of the avast! 7 net client. There is very little different from the previous version. The only major difference is the combining of Computer Catalog, and Task Management module into the same location (they were separated before). During installation, you are prompted for choice of SQL 2008 R2 Express, or use existing install of SQL. If you have either SQL 2005 or SQL 2008, you can use same instance, but a NEW database will be required, as new modules are supported. Their is no conversion utility for the old database at this time, so you treat it as a new install. Both ADNM and AEA can exist simultaneously. Net client auto uninstalls the existing avast net client vs. 4, and installs new client.  WE will NOT have to touch every machine (we really needed that). After AEA installs, it is recommended to unplug Internet before deploying the new client.  That way you are not online during this moment when there is no A/V protection. The avast! 7 net client does require a reboot after installation (all protection is not immediate upon installation). Each avast! Enterprise Administration Server (old AMS, now AEAS can manage 1000 systems.  However, full SQL is required for the “Replication Service” to support multiple AEAS (to support 1000+ systems) AND again, there is no migration path currently that will use the existing database.
Sincerely,

Hello,

I'm having difficulty following all these Acronyms.  :)

ADNM2 is now rebranded to SOA (Small Office Administration). Yes? I thought the "Mirror Patch" related to AEA (Avast Enterprise Administration).

Just to clarify, are you saying there is also an issue with the Mirror within SOA?

Kind Regards,
Stephen

The mirror patch is ONLY for AEA.

SOA does not have this issue.

Oh, it absolutely does.  I've been waiting for a patch for a couple weeks!  I was told by Avast Support that it was to be fixed/released last week but that doesn't seem to be the case.  Still waiting on the fix.  I have a lot of angry people breathing down my neck right now...

Was this a fresh install, or an install over the top of SBC?  I have quite a few of these installed, and have not seen that issue anywhere.  I am thinking out loud here, OK? I would expect that the bug fix mentioned  by avast! is not for SOA, and is the AEA Mirror issue.  During the avast! reseller meeting,  we discussed all of the bug fixes happening.  SOA mirror was not one of them.  If I were in control of this installation, I would personally remove SOA, aswclear, and reinstall SOA, to prove the theory.

It was new server with a fresh install.  I have a ticket in with the support group but nobody from Avast has responded since 2012-07-06!  My company has replied 3 times since then and they have not said a word.

I've reinstalled the software several times.  I had another thread going but it hasn't seen much traffic lately.  We bounced around some ideas and I submitted logs but nothing has come of it.  I'll do whatever I have to do to get it to work but if I don't act soon, Avast is going to lose a longtime customer.  My supervisor is harping on me to get this done before the business decision is made to give Avast the axe and install something else.

Hi. We are implementing new version of Endpoint Protection Suite and we are having problems with installation on servers. Until now we were using for several years 60 licenses of Avast! Professional Edition and 50 licenses of Avast! Standard Suite because we have 5 servers and 105 workstations. Our servers are Itanium based Windows Server 2003 SP2 and the main reason why we decided to buy Avast Antivirus solution several years ago is because it was the only solution available in our country working on Itanium based servers. We didn't have any problems until now. We installed new database and console on a Windows XP Pro machine where the old database was located and everything went well with distributing new client application via Net client on XP Pro and Win 7 Pro clients but when we tried it on Itanium servers we came to problems. It uninstalls old client application and with some problems installs new client app but services wont start. Do you have any idea what can be a problem? Is it something with Windows Server 2003 or maybe new EPS wont work on Itanium based servers (if that's a case then we are in big problems)?
