reverting back to free
« on: June 01, 2012, 06:03:47 PM »
Hi, I have been using the Avast Internet Security and was thinking about going back to the free Avast version.
Do I just let my present license expire and then the firewall turns off or do I need to uninstall?
I plan on using the Windows 7 firewall unless there is a better free firewall-thanks

You will have to uninstall it and run the avast clean tool before reinstalling the free version.

Ok, thanks.
Just what makes the Avast firewall better than the windows 7 firewall?

I haven't used the avast firewall but i would suspect the ease of the auto setup and configuration of a two way firewall compaired to tryin to work it out with the windows firewall for outbound protection would be a huge benefit, also the ability to view your internet traffic and logs.
