Cutting Off
« on: June 03, 2012, 09:05:11 PM »
I'm having a problem with Avast cutting off at the bottom.
Avast scans a program that I'm  installing and when it says
that it's safe I can't see the options of what to do next because
the Avast box is at the very bottom of the screen and its
cut off. Is there a way to move this box to the middle of the screen
so I can see the options????

Sorry for the delay!!!!
I had to send my new computer back to HP for repairs and they had to replace the motherboard.
I attached a pic of the cutting off problem.
This is at the very bottom on the left and there is no way to move the window to see what is cutoff.

Is there anything "special" about your desktop... like enlarged height of the taskbar, or something else at the top or bottom of the screen that might be shrinking the available area?
Or... large fonts, changed DPI... anything?

Hi Igor

This would be nice. We could actually " Grab " the pop up and move it around. I've had double alerts, Avast!/Comodo and I thank God Comodo alerts can be grabbed and move it out of the corner.

I have the tool bar on the left side but that shouldn't make a difference.

Have you tried moving it to the conventional location to see if it does make a difference ?

What is the resolution of your screen ?
Even on my 1024x600 10.1" win7 netbook windows are above the toolbar, see image.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Thanks for the reply!!!!
My screen resolution is 1920X1080 which is the recommended setting for my monitor.
Also, I have my icons on the left side and not the bottom like it is on your desktop.

My comment and related screenshot was to show that even on a small screen, low resolution 1024x600 if it shows there it should on a large screen resolution.

That is what I suggested that you change to the conventional location to see if it does make a difference ?

Not the window, the toolbar you spoke about in Reply #6 and my reply in Reply #7 was a direct response to your post.

The toolbar is normally on the bottom, you have it on the left, try moving it back and see if it makes a difference.

Sorry, but now matter where I had the task bar (left right top or bottom) that window was still cutoff at the bottom.
I even tried changing the screen resolution but the did no good either.
