Can viruses infect media files?
« on: June 13, 2012, 07:27:45 PM »
Hello,

I was wondering if viruses could infect files like .mp3, .wav, .avi, etc. I don't think they can, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for any response,
Brad

It is possible to exploit the media player at hand to execute malicious code.

So yes, it is possible for media files to be infected.

Yes as !Donovan it is entirely possible and where this is possible those files are scanned.
