Avast for Tablets
« on: June 08, 2012, 05:44:03 PM »
Hello

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question (yep, I know there are "no" dumb questions), I just purchased a new Transformer tablet running Android ICS 4.0. Will the Avast Moblie Security app work on it? it looks like it was developed for android phones. Also if it does, will it let me select which apps can access the internet? Thanks for any information you can give me!!!!!

I believe there are people using it on tablets, though it isn't specifically designed for tablets.

I don't know if you would be able to use the firewall or not, as it requires root access, e.g. the 'phone' has to be rooted, so I don't know if you can do that on your tablet.

Welcome to the forum.
It was developed for the Android OS which includes phones and tablets.

avast! Mobile Security could be used on tablets. It can protect against malwares.
The internet access control can only be done in root devices. Take care about this decision of making something root (you're void your warranty).
