Hmmm???  According to FileHippo, they have separate 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions:

http://www.filehippo.com/search?q=Flash+Player

But, I do see that the File Sizes are identical for both versions.  Both versions have the Brontosaurus footprints.

So, you might be right, David.
Both versions --- 32-Bit and 64-Bit could conceivably have the code for BOTH versions just in case some people download and install the wrong version for their system ... they're covered and no problems arise.

Otherwise, it's the buffet of new features responsible for the big increase.

I don't believe it has anything to do with how much space it takes up on the hard disk, but the hassle downloading the larger files on dial-up.

Uh Oh!  Crashing, huh?
I sure hope that's an isolated case.

While I have them downloaded, I haven't installed them yet.

Maybe I should wait until at least tomorrow to see if any other reports of crashing pop up.

No one can say as we have no information to work with, e.g. it kept crashing, what errors, how did you know it was down to the flash player.

I kept getting windows 7 popup error checking thing like 2 or 3 times saying flash player has stopped working.  i even tried uninstalling and reinstalling with the same results.

EDIT: I'm going to reinstall flash player 13.. and hope it doesn't crash. It crashes when i am on youtube and xat.com chats maybe. if i get any crashes i will make a new reply

If you already ran the uninstaller, once for both; ActiveX ( IE ) and plugin ( Others ), I would try to install the activeX first and then the plugin:

ActiveX version (Internet Explorer):   http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_active_x.exe

Plug-in version (other browsers):  http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin.exe

These handles both versions 32 and 64 bit.

I would say no because you have a 64bit OS version.

Mind you, that is a bone of contention as flash is used by the browser as a plugin, so if you have 32bit versions of your browser/s then perhaps it should be the 32bit version.

However, that said the activeX version of flash player is one that may be used by other applications (avast stats), so is it an OS based requirement or a browser requirement when choosing which flash player to get. Personally I feel it is an OS based decision.

Hence my earlier comment about confusion on what to download and why perhaps they may have gone over to a combined 32/64bit update file.
