Bew here with question on infected files
« on: June 13, 2012, 01:20:10 AM »
I scan my system very regularly, and normally I have zero threats or problems, I am not complaining. well I started a Full scan of all drives and such, nearly 4 TB, took over 13 hrs to scan.

at the end, in big bold letters it said no threat found, but down below on the summery it indicates there are 5 infected files, but does not indicate which ones what actions to take or have been taken, etc. I am lost on this.

I am not new to computers, as I have been in the communications fields a while. so please some one if you know what I am doing wrong or missing please let me know.

Win XP pro, with newest Avast pro.

What are the file names and locations and crucially what is the malware name given ?

You could attach a screenshot of this summary, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by summary. I would say the summary is more the scan window on completion of the Scan (see attached image, click to expand) and if you click the Show report file, it gives you a detailed listing of files that were either infected or couldn't be scanned and the reason why they couldn't be scanned.

It is this listing (report file) that I think you mean and the files displayed are ones that couldn't be scanned and why.

Strange! i dont see that "show report file" here with my UI...is that related to the special scan setting in Avast! UI??

No it isn't related as special scans are more your right click scan and even then it just places the Explorer scan in the Scan Computer listing.
