Infected File :
« on: August 27, 2003, 05:56:59 PM »
Avast found an infected email and after some problem deleting it, I found it was stored in the Avast file on explorer..I managed to delete it.

Later today, I scanned my PC again and it found another infected file..one my grandson had downloaded..it was a game. I deleted that successfully.

Out of curiosity, I scanned my PC with Panda and it found the following infected file. I have put it into my recycle bin as I do not know if I really need it.

C:\windows\system\activescan\imscan.dll

What should I do about this file???

You can safly delete the file, if you do not use the retailversion of Panda antivirus. But i think it is from Pandas onlinescan.
Avast produces a false alarm on this file, because Panda doe not encryp their signatures. If you use the boardsearch for Panda( choose 180 days for searching) you will get several hits.

I have already looked in that .dll site and imscan is not listed at all...I just want confirmation that it is not an important file before I delete it.
