Stop looking over your shoulder, take your personal experience as these scans are not able to replicate normal use.

Well,i am not looking over my shoulder David...its just FYI...if its not we...atleast some of the avast users in real world will take this tests seriously...we need to do well...buy anyway, i believe in my own experiences...but we need to be careful we can loss some users my not performing well in these tests i feel...anyway  :)

but 1 thing i note:
when we are on top we are best!
when we are down these tests are on fault!! 8)

keep improving! :D

Hardly for my information as I take little notice of reviews, I tend to go with my experience of over 8 years of using avast.

Given that they seem to have tested avast free edition against the other vendors suites I think avast must have done pretty darn well.

+1 I strongly agree with DavidR as I've been using Avast for 8 years as I've learned from the experience people who have been improving their Avast software for many years, and I'm very please with their performance they have improved over the years I can a sure you I'm very safe with Avast because v7.0 platform is a huge step from the old v4.8 platform no AV cannot reach 100% it's not possible.

Try and think back from the old v4.0 and you can see how much they have improved over the years going towards v7.0 and over, and I'll bet their might be a v7.1 by the end of 2012 who knows just think about how much they have improved as I'm never going to leave Avast.

What's wrong?
Nothing you are protected. Personal experience always trumps so-called tests.  :)

Now thats optimism ;D

agree, personal experience matters a lot to me  :)

a give avast to lot of my clients and they never complained about it..I have seen some clients just running avast and nothing else and so far these type of users [clients] have just got infected with a couple of generic trojans..thats pretty awesome! as it could have been worse in case of other AV's  ;)
