Again AAVM error
« on: August 26, 2003, 05:43:23 PM »
I have WinXP Pro

After installing avast! home edition after reboting system and login I have an error mesage titled "could not load a transcoding service" and the text of the mesage is: Xerces panic error. When i click on the On-Acces icon in task bar is this: AAVM subsytem detected a RPC error.

After uninstaling the avast! the problem whit errors  "could not..." disappered

I have no problems whit manual updating database and program but it does not help any way. The on-acces icon is not active all the time.

What to do to change this (I read previous posts about the AAVM error but this does not help me any way, where is this package??)

What language version of Windows do you have?

The Xerces panic error is indeed critical...

Thanks,

OK, we did some research and we believe we've solved this problem.

Could you please try to download this file and put it to your avast directory? (replace the existing version).

http://cat.asw.cz/~vlk/xerces.dll

Prior to overwriting the file, you'll have to kill all avast components (e.g. in the task manager), otherwise the file will be locked in memory.

Please post the result here.

Thanks!
