Outlook toolbar position.
« on: June 04, 2012, 06:52:52 PM »
I am running AIS 7.0.1426 and when I open Outlook, the avast toolbar shows up. I then move it to any position, or close it leaving it on the email screen but not Outlook's main screen however as soon as I close and re-open Outlook, it moves back to the original position. I have in the past been able to get it to stay, but currently cannot. I also checked another computer of mine and it does the same thing.

Any ideas on how to get it to stay / go away without disabling the plugin?

I experienced the same issue.  It will not stay, like the older version would. Specifically, I am referring to the anti-spam tool bar.  J.R. Guthrie

I have a solution. Avast is not saving the settings in the INI files.

I am running Win 7 x64 and Outlook 2007. The following file needs to be modified with these settings added. You can adjust your settings to get what you are after.

C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\AntiSpamShield.ini

This file could also be under Avast5. My old computer had it there which is where I found the settings.

Inside add these lines under the Antispam header:
AntispamToolbarLeft=0
AntispamToolbarTop=52
AntispamToolbarRowIndex=4
AntispamToolbarPosition=1
AntispamToolbarVisibility=0

Adjust the numbers to your liking. This will leave the toolbar in you email messages, but not on the main outlook screen.
