I just don't understand Auto Sandbox...
« on: June 22, 2012, 10:16:51 AM »
Installed NFS Most Wanted some time ago. Started it and no problems, the game worked directly. Started it next day and Auto Sandbox jumped up. Yesterday, installed NFS Carbon. Worked directly. I want to start it today, i get Auto Sandbox popup. What gives!?
I've seen similar behavior on various Steam games as well and on some of my tweaks as well. First it doesn't react and then all of the sudden it does. Weird behavior... It's also very hard to reproduce such stuff since it apparently changes from day to day based on cloud or i don't know what else, so you'll have to explain it to me a bit and find out the issue yourself...

Win7 64bit
avast! Free 7.0.1426
NFS Most Wanted v1.3 (retail, updated, no modifications, cracks or anything)
NFS Carbon v1.4 (retail, updated, no modifications, cracks or anything)

I ended up turning off AutoSandbox entirely, as it never seemed to work....programs would launch for a few seconds then stop, and no matter what I told it (run normally next time), it would always launch the sandbox for just about every program.

What was the reported reason of autosandboxing?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

99% of the time it's static analysis that's causing the most problems (ie warnings on known clean stuff). It was also in this case.
