Phone_Registration_Error
« on: October 04, 2012, 09:12:21 AM »
Hi all,

when i try to activate my acount in AMS or AAT i get the following error:

"Could not connect to Google Cloud to Device Messaging (Phone_Registration_Error) Please make sure your Google account is set up correctly"

I´ve created an Account via Webbrowser on Avast Website and try to use this account in AMS, ATT, but failed

Latest AMS, ATT version
Android 4.03 runs on the phone (with root)
PlayStore works
Synchronisation with google mail works.

Any Ideas whats going wrong?

Thanks
Markus

This is actually not a problem with Avast but with Google Cloud. I researched and found the following:

"Good news.  Both user are back online hand happily registering their devices.  For User #2, all it took was rebooting the phone.  Use #1 had tried rebooting the phone multiple times with no success.  But they had are app installed on the SD card.  Once the moved it to internal memory, and rebooted the phone, everything started working.

This is the second time I have heard of problems with C2DM that went away when the app was moved from the SD card to internal memory."

-> did you install on SD card?

you'll have to search the internet. This Phone_registration_error message is coming directly from Google so we can not influence that.

Now everything works fine.

1. i made a complete Backup (with Titanium Pro)
2. reset the device to factory defaults
3. reconnect to my google account
4. installed AMS
5. login to the avast account
6. configure AMS/AAT
7. manually restore the apps

AMS/ATT works

regards
