Avast 9.0.2006 blocking Java, Can't add exceptions
« on: October 28, 2013, 05:43:06 PM »
I'm having problems with 9.0.2006 blocking connections from java processes - in particular Vuze.

I hope there's a fix on the way but in the meantime there's other threads here that suggest putting java.exe & javaw.exe into the Webshield exception list, only trouble is I can't figure out how to do it.

I've opened the Web shield setting window & I see the "Processes to exclude" area but it's inactive.
It doesn't make any difference if the checkbox is ticked or not - clicking the "Add" button does nothing nor does clicking or double-clicking in the empty box.

Any ideas?
I've attached a screen shot of what I see, it looks like there's something missing on the popup to me.

I do not have any problem with java, but do have with the "excluding option"
Windows XP, SP3
Avast 2014.9.0.2006

Putting a checkmark in the box does change the color of the "add" button as if you can add a exclusion.
Nothing happens when clicking the button.

I had exactly same issue as Alan41238584.

You've probably already discovered that an upgrade to 9.0.2007 fixes your problems.

Settings/Active Protection/Web Shield/settings/Exclusions/Processes to Exclude is now enabled, although prob. safer I guess, to exclude via URL.

In any case, for some as yet unknown reason, I did not need to add any exclusions to enable the Java applets on http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR.html (Statistics Online Computational Resource), which I couldn't download under 9.0.2006 (unless I disabled avast).

Same problem here with the latest build of Avast.
Basically, after putting the check mark in "processes to exclude", when I click on the "add" button, nothing happens.
