SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784
« on: July 28, 2005, 07:28:53 PM »
Hi Everybody,

Was hoping that someone could help me with finding out about a Virus/Worm called SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784?

Wasn't sure if it had been discussed in the past, haven't checked all the forum posts....

Was having a big problem with it this morning, ran the Home Edition, came up nothing.  But when I'd try and access Internet Explorer, all pages would show that they were infected with the virus/worm.

I did a Yahoo search, didn't come up with anything.  So I thought I'd come here and ask about it, since I do use the Avast Home Edition.

Bill

All pages? You mean pages like google.com, etc? Did the alert dialog have a "Abort connection" button (i.e. did the warning come from Web Shield)?
I'm not sure what SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 is, but it sounds like some old DOS virus, so it could hardly by found on web. Can you give us an example of URL that was reported as infected?

When I would start IE, my homepage (www.yahoo.com) would come up with the Abort Connection window...as well as with my Yahoo Mail notification...and any other webpage URL that I would type into it.

Didn't know that old DOS viruses were still around, am glad to know that they are and the steps to take against them.

I love Avast and the people overthere .... but yesterday and today the virus scanner is horrible ... because of the SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 warnings on every website, including the Avast-site ... I spent a lot of time with reinstalling Avast, and using cleaning machines for spam, viruses and so on. It seems I'm not the only one whose waisting time ... So I shut down my computer, I am going to read a book (James Joyce's Ulysses), and I will wait what Avast will bring me tomorrow. Ard

I have deinstalled avast till they have solved the problem.

I installed PC-cillin and i have no problems.

I think they will solve the problem within 30 days!

Success!

Why you said this?
Maybe it's just a VPS problem that could be solved tomorrow...  ::)

It was to trigger that they will solved the problem earlier and they did do it!

The problem is solved and I can use avast! again.

Alwil seems to be a serious company. I see no need to force them to give support  ;)

Uh Oh.... I just started receiving this again. Avast is giving me the message that
SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 Malware\Worm has been found. It happens no matter what page I access. Is this back? What now? Thanks - Aratech

Does the problem persist even if you restart the computer?

Hi i have been having the same problem since yesterday, lol
avast tells me that every webpage i go on containes a sample
of the SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 virus.
Have preformed full system scans with avast, avg and kaspersky personal pro,
avast is the only program which recognises the worm but can not find it on full system scan.
i have performed various reg scrubs and adware scans, found nothing.
thanks

Why isn't this detected in all systems?
avast is NOT warning me nothing and I'm using the last Professional version and virus database  ??? ::)
