HELP!! Cant Start Avast 5.0 Internet. Reads "side by side" configuration problem

Hello.
Just purchased & downloaded Avast!Internet. When trying to open it I get a prompt which reads "side by side" configuration problem. 
Any ideas as to what to do?!

Side-By-Side Configuration is Incorrect Error - You need to install MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable.

You need 2008 SP1:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

That is for 32bit OS versions, so you will need a different one if you are using 64bit OS ?

I've just got this message too but when trying to install "...C++ redistributable package ..." I get message that I'm not a reistered installer?

Sorry I can't help with the error message you are getting I haven't come across that before.

Are you running the installation of the C++ redistributable package from an account with administrator privileges ?

Or if you are using Vista or Win7 I don't know if you are bumping into the windows UAC, so may have to run as administrator for the C++ installer.
