Greetz, Red.
Don't worry, new beta release will be here soon and lots of new issues ;)
Hi,
it was much nicer, when there was a final release with a different version number as in the past years (even if nothing has changed from RC to RTM). Maybe this should be considered again for future releases.
<snip>
Avast! should give brief description of the Host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS).I agree.
@Be Secure: An Avast team member wanted to give more information on it, but nothing yet.It is impossible to do anything without more information on HIPS.And same question Whats going on? ???
@hectic-mmv: Whats going on? :D
Question can anybody confirm that SafeZone working properly in the latest R3 or do we have to wait until R4 :o ??? ???

Where can I find the settings for HIPS? I already have HIPS through Online Armor Free, so I want to turn it off.
Heres one for you: http://prntscr.com/7saumc (http://prntscr.com/7saumc)Is that popup from the new release or from one of the betas?
Or you just get a normal file-system-shield like popup telling Avast blocked something.

Speedy, the "Component Status" box for SafeZone has never worked properly (for me),
Have you fired up the SafeZone Browser? Is that working for you?
Smart Scan has been scanning for performance issues on my win 7 computer for over 2 hours and has this little circle going around and it shows loading. When I click on skip it shows "your PC still has performance issues." I have no idea of what that means.
Could someone please explain?

Can you try to start it from Scan / Scan for performance issues ? 2 hours is definitely too much, it shouldn't take more than few minutes.
Anyway you can contact support so we can take a look on this issue. Log file would be helpful.
I've updated my Protection Tweaks for avast! 2015 with "special" adjustments to the newly introduced HIPS feature. It's adjusted in a way to provide maximum protection with minimal interaction required by the user. Basically I've set it to High sensitivity and to only detect malware like behavior. Seems like the best option currently and something I'll be using as well...Thanks. :)

well I still can on Windows XP replicate the issue with Avast! preventing OS startup
the only solution is to to get rid of C:\windows\drivers\aswSnx.sys
IMHO the Avast Sandbox driver is colliding with Kerio Firewall drivers but I'm not sure
It would be nicer to change build number of avast!.It is create more and more confusion :) One more thing Pls make a fix for webshield it prevent the webpages to load(slow) in avast!2015 R3 (2015.10.3.2223) version also.

About build number. It is intended to have same build number in beta channel after release. The advantage is, that the same build is in both channel and there is no risk in release or build process. Its the internal stuff but bring better quality for Avast build.

Ok then, so this is some UI Smart Scan issue - trying to include performance issues step when this component is not installed at all. We will try find out why it happens. In this case it might be helpful to have your avast5.ini, if you can submit it on support page. And thanks for you time.

I just ran Smart Scan again on my win 7 computer and even though I don't have GrimeFighter or Cleanup installed it showed I have no Performance issues.
Exactly. There is no Cleanup scan/clean, just incorrect UI message.
more problems with this new Avast vs Windows XP SP3 , it blocked Flash update (.209), Java update (.51) and Windows updates (yes the extended ones) ...
only disabling it's services allowed correct install ...
so for me it seems Avast is dead on XP , same as XP ... aka time to nuke em
Avast pro installed without a problem on this computer which i can´t say about my other computer which has McAfee internet security installed. Since 27.06.2015 when it autoupdated the McAfee program McAfee won´t allow new virus updates to be installed without bypassing the accesprotection function and do a manual update. McAfee suport so far failes to solve the problem.Follow the link in my signature to Successfully Install Avast.
I have about 130 days left to when the license expires. I remember there was a problem with straming updates in the avast program in the past which was discussed in this forum, but it did get solved. Hopefully my problem on the other computer will get solved to. Otherwise i will change to avast on that to. I have had no other issues with Avast which I can remember.
Keep up the good work
:)
As I explained in my earlier post it is two different computers with two different internet connections. So there is no conflict between different Brands of Antivirusproducts. The problem with Mcafee is related to an McAfee update that occured about 19 days ago and affects many moore computers than mine. I mentioned it just to say i´m pleased that the avast update works fine so far :)Sorry but news about McAfee or any other third party AV problems really don't have an audience here. :)
ps.
Only one computer is on at the same time.
I realy don´t know what to say about an answer like yours. I reported that i´ve was pleased with the update procedure on Avast pro antivirus and that it worked fine. I did mention the McAfee issue just to point out the difference between the two updates. Not for any advice on that matter. I didn´t know that this was such a sensible matter in this forum. It isn't sensitive not just something you'll find any one interested in.
When will this build be finalized? When will it be ready. What do you mean, this is the final version (for now).
Can someone tell me why avast! R3 build doesn't install NG Sandbox on Windows 10 64bit (RTM build) ? Didn't get the option during install and in settings it's also not visible. What's up with that? I thought it's 100% compatible with Windows 10 ?
please, help me! How to see a secure dns and hips in a avast R3? I have a ukrainian lokalization(language) of product. Please, Send some screenshoots to see where are situated.

Secure DNS : Avast - Settings - Active Protection - Secure DNS.
HIPS : Avast - Settings - Active Protection - File System Shield - Customise - Sensitivity - Suspicious behaviour (HIPS).
Screenshots are with default settings.

It's not Secure DNS? I have Windows XP, and in Avast - Settings - Active Protection Secure DNS not situated here ???
- StreamFilter with HTTPS scanning is now available also for Windows XP/Vista

The new version of Avast Free is running without any visible problems on my Windows XP SP3 PC.are you have secure dns?
However I would like to report a small bug. When I use context menu clicking the right mouse button - the icon of Avast there seems not to be displayed correctly.
Maybe the icon file for the context menu is not fully compatible with Windows XP?

Previously this wasn't an issue on XP, but now the icon appears to be very low resolution (see attached) with a black box background. This despite my display being 1920X1200.
I have something funny in my Avast FREE. Can someone from Avast confirm that if this is the norm now or if it is a test ?
I do not have a registration date and my license is valid until the year 2023. I have read that Avast is trying to get rid of the yearly registration in thr free version but nothing has been said officialy though.
Any body else seeing this in his Avast FREE.
BTW I installed R3 2223 cleanly and did not ask to be register.
Too bad I was not one of them. My free license will need to be renewed in 46 daysYou make it sound like that's a hard job. :)
Repaired Avast and still no registration date and my license is still valid until the year 2023 ;)Maybe this is the year until XP will be supported... ;D ;)

Hi.
this is ok. In some cases we test to drop the registrations. The fact that you don't see the date is because you are registered forever ;-) Nothing to worry about. It might change in the time but we will always notify you in advance in case the program needs registration again.
Many problems in my dutch Vista after online update to AVAST 2015 R3 (2015.10.3.2223)
All my browsers cannot reach internet anymore (not found message or hang).
After disabling Avast everything looks normal.
Same problem after repair.
By the way repair changed the Avast language from Dutch to Englisch (should not be done, I think)
Everything Ok after going back to 2015 R2.
Are there other Vista users with same problems ?
Hello. My website is blacklisted by avast. How can this be removed?-> https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/barsmin.com/
The website is: hxxp://barsmin.com Thanks.
Why is this new version so aggressive? I would like to know why is this version scanning HTTPS links even when the setting was set NOT to scan them? Its not respecting its own settings.

How did you go back to the previous version? I can't find a link anywhere.http://www.oldapps.com/avast_antivirus.php#version-listing (http://www.oldapps.com/avast_antivirus.php#version-listing)
How did you go back to the previous version? I can't find a link anywhere.Just do a system restore like I did. Go back to a restore point *before* you installed the update.
Restarted PC and got notification that program was automatically updated.
Version: 10.3.2224
Would be nice if we received an update of the changes in 2224. :)
I also could not reach the internet through my browsers after this update (10.3.2223). I have Windows Vista.
When I turned off Web Shield then I could reach the internet.
I reinstalled Avast but that did not fix it.
I went back to the previous version for now.
Would someone from avast please tell us how to restore the behavior of webshield to its previous state? I don't have the system restore point that I can go back nor do I want the old version in my system. This version is getting annoying already. Scanning of https links makes no sense to me. I don't want it to scan them. 62000+ items in just few minutes is preposterous. Here's how to turn it off:
Hello Sir, thank you for the tip. However, this was my second post regarding this (see link below). Maybe I should raise a ticket regarding this since avast team is not responding here. That's entirely up to you. I simply made the answer already given by Avast in your other post a little clearer.

This update completely crashed my Windows 7 Home Premium partition - wiped out all Restore Points, as well as BSODing on normal boot and any safe mode boot. I went though the usual troubleshooting: Initially trying to revert to an earlier restore point via the Win 7 install DVD, only to find they were gone; doing Startup Repair once I found that I couldn't even boot into safe mode (it found no issues, which is always fun) and running chkdsk/sfc/etc.; posting BSOD minidumps to other forums for analysis, which essentially told me the same thing (remove Avast), which I was sort of able to do through another partition. The last thing I expected from an update I honestly don't recall choosing to install was a good ol' BSOD upon restart.
Thankfully I have a Win 8.1 partition, and the data from the Win 7 is accessible. However - really for my fiancee's convenience - I'd really love to be able at least boot into safe mode without freezing on "classpnp.sys" and then endlessly restarting when that mode is selected.
TL;DR - Bricked my computer, erased my restore points, and has genuinely been more difficult to resolve than some viruses/malware I've come across.

Is somebody running Vista with 2015.10.3.2225 and has NO problems anymore.
I just reverted back to .2215. The recent version was too annoying.

Hi,
could you please be more specific, what was annoying?
Thanks

You could have simple turned off https scanning. :)I just reverted back to .2215. The recent version was too annoying.

It wasn't respecting its 'https scanning' logic. I asked avast not to scan https links but it was doing anyway. That resulted in huge number of links to be scanned within few minutes of activity.
