Hello All!
My name is Ryan. I installed Avast a couple of months ago and am having trouble accessing the settings section. It's asking for a password I don't have. I've tried every password I would have used and have even tried resetting the account password and nothing is letting me in. Is there a way I can reset that password?
-
- Which Avast..?
- Which version..?

The password would be the same as in the console.
Do you have one?

- Which Avast..?
- Which version..?
It says Avast Free Antivirus 2015 and the vs. says 10.2.2218

I'm not sure I know what you mean. Define console please?

A console is a peace of software for managing the Avast clients on the network from one single interface.
Please open the Microsoft's Service MMC Snap-in and let us know what Avast services do you see there.

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

It took me a while to figure out what you were talking about. Services.msc is the thing you can type in to get to that. On that list I have Avast Antivirus and AvastVBox COM Service.

That's the only way to change the pass?

That's the only way to change the pass?
If you forgot your PW, yes.
