I don't have anything against orange as a color, but it sure is hard to read for thread titles in the forum. Is anyone else having problems reading it? ??? ???

When I noticed it yesterday, it did take a bit to get used to because it was yellow (suppose my poor eyes don't help much), but if i'm not mistaken, there is an option to change the skin but I haven't seen it yet)

There's no skin to change as it's the forum I'm referring to — not avast AV. I've tried both FF and IE with same lousy viewing results.

The default look of this forum is way too bright for me. I haven't been able to figure out how to change the look. The only visible profile tab is when I login. There isn't any look and layout option in my profile. Any help?

Apart from the 'in your face' first impression, I notice that some posts now don't wrap and cause a scroll bar to appear at the bottom and some posts are just oof-screen. Going to Classic Theme seems to have cured this and it's easier to read.

Yep, sigline correct.
I'm not going to SP-3 because it contains an update that caused BSOD a couple of years ago. I have a post-it-note on my desk lamp not to ever install that one. It was KB916595. Also, KB951748 caused conflict with ZA. Sticking with SP-2.
Still using GE Force 7300, but with the VGA output (or is it RGB)? The DVI output died while I was away on vacation. Very strange. PC was unplugged so I know it wasn't lightning. Switching cable connections is a lot cheaper than researching and buying a new video card. :o ::)

I personally prefer the new look, it matches version 5 of avast.

I don't see the same options as in the screen shot by Gargamel360. I only get the first one, account related settings.
Would really love to change the look to something not so vibrant.

Perhaps you need 20 posts for the option, like signature or P.M. rights.
You and fragman, the other who could not find the option, are both short of that.

A lot of changes have happened in a couple of years and SP2 has gone out of support:

Plus SP3 has several performance improvements and many Critical Updates.
Are you running the latest ZA ???
Those that live in the past are doomed to keep making the same mistakes.

Pretty lame if you have to have a certain number of posts before you can change the forum theme. Don't mind about the rest but the surely not the theme ?
Seeing as this is post 7 I will probably have to post another 13 "Me too" messages just to check if that option becomes available ;D

I switched themes, too. I don't mind the Orange. It's the lack of contrast between the text of the messages and the background. If the text were black instead of gray, it'd be more easily readable.

Exactly right... no contrast. I'm sure the number will go up from 15 as others come to the forum and have some trouble reading threads. Nothing against orange though.

It appears there is a passing of the old guard at Avast,(retired, etc)
The soon to be passing of Avast 4.8, which has served me so faithfully over the years.
My hat off to the old guard.

I changed back to the old default too. I gave it a try with the new and all the daily tweaks, but my eyes can't handle it even while wearing sunglasses. Sorry. :P

Test post to get me up to the magic number of 20.
EDIT: Well, whaddaya know? 20 is indeed the magic number of posts needed to be allowed to change the color theme. The admins may want to rethink that, lest you turn off newbies.

Now you are a Jr. Member so please go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then Signature: and put information about your system just like my signature about your system just like my signature so that the helpers can offer pertinent advice.
Plus you can select a suitable avatar there as well.

The new orange motif tells you that you are at the Avast! forum even before you read the Avast! Forum banner.

I really like the new theme for the forum. I realise it will have been a modification of a theme (Fussilet?) but which one of his is it as he is a prolific theme creator for SMF.
