I can't stand AV tests, whether Avast wins or loses I just... couldn't give a damned crap ::)... but okay that's my position ;)

edit: + the purpose of posting such links here doesn't have the purpose to analyze the ins and outs, but to promote a product or to bash another >>> boring ::)

Well... If we start to comment the results it would be better.
No need to bash a product, but comment what avast made good and what can be improved.

:) I like to see who has failed and why.
Also these results are fair in that they are compared with the average and thus the real world user can see the difference between products.
What looks good is Symantec and bad McAfee.
Keep up the good work Avast. ;D

Is amazing how avast! has average results on av-test.org and had good results on AV-Comparatives and VirusBulletin. Just doesn't fit in my head.

I can just relate my 15 month or so experience with Avast Free and AIS.

1.  I am all over the Net continuously everday
2.  Besides now using AIS I use WD and SAS real time and the following programs in batch mode; Malwarebytes, Trend Micro Housecall, Hitman Pro, ESET, Dr. Cureit and even Stinger :) by McAfee.
3.  Rarely and I mean rarely have these other programs including SAS and WD ever found any Malware, including Trojans, Rootkits etc that were missed by Avast.

That is good it enough for me :)

AIS does what it is supposed to without conflicts with other programs, is easy to configure and easy to use.

Different tests, different sample set, different methodologies.

I like to read over them.  They are not the deciding factor when I look at AV options, but together they are one component or part of the fact gathering equation. None of them should be taken alone.

Would have been great if Avast did well in this Test though.. Hope they learn from these and focus where they went wrong and fix them soon  :)
