My beloved Avast has been either destroyed or uninstalled 9 times since new year. I have today been through alot of cleaning of malware and stuff like that, without knowing what is going on. But my avast wont work and I reinstalled again again, but now the licence key wont work. Then I installed the free version. NOW IT ALSO WANTS a registration key????? I am about to get a nervous break down.
PLEASE help me. :-[

I would start with finding out if the machine is clean first, and then solve the license problem...
Follow this guide, and attach all logs....not copy and paste

it is possible to attach more then one log file to the post ;)
Allowed file types: txt, jpg, gif, png, log
Restrictions: 4 per post, maximum total size 192KB, maximum individual size 200KB

if unsure just continue as you did, it is not a problem.......it was just a suggestion to do it a bit easyer for you ;)

OH and I dont know if I should use the last tool, because i dont have problems with the internet as such, but it tells me all the time i have a server that is...ok can I send you a screenshot of the box?

It pops up every time i start my email and want to get mails or send mails, but only once as i am forced to say yes, or else I cant get mails. AND I GET MANY MAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Maybe I should have told, that I use Windows Live Mail and Gmail and I use a server called !123.com.. also for my homepage.

And now I got one more complain from the computer after all these cleaning programs. I translated it to english.

you do know this is avast forum.......just asking since i see you are running AVG
did you try to install avast while running AVG ?
you also have software from IObit!....you may want to uninstall it after reading this

That is only until my BELOVED AVAST is running again and my license works too. you can be sure of that. It goes out as soon as I can get my avast running again. I payed for it so I am going to use it. My license should have worked until september. I just am so afraid of getting virus..... more than i already got .... :-\ Avast has been serving me beautifully for years without any troubles, so I wont drop it for anything.

No, I have uninstalled AVG, before i tried Avast for the 9th time and it was broken after a few days as usual... At very first i thought it was Avast that was the problem, as it all the time stopped working ot got uninstalled when my computer didnt want to start up and i couldnt make i work again. So i tried with AVG but it worked for 6 days and then it was uninstalled too. Then a friend suggested it was a trojan... I was almost happy, to know it wasnt my Avast. It Was actually therefor i knew it wasnt avast, that cost the troubles. And it was only after the 8th time I tried AVG. But since i cannot make my Avast work yet, I use AVG. Isnt it fair enough?

Download a fresh copy of Avast to your desktop
Download aswClear http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe
Download the AVG removal tool http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilities
Download McAfee removal tool http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
Download IOBit removal tool http://download.cnet.com/IObit-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-75161625.html
Uninstall via control panel each of the above programmes
Then run each of the uninstall programmes including aswClear
Reinstall Avast
Let us know how that goes

How can I be sure it is all gone? I have tried to remove all on the list. I am about to download a new avast.

I cant seem to get rid of AVG properly... I get this box that askes me alot of things.. i cant even take a screenshot of it. Something about user account control settings.... it makes me crazy!!!

Yes severel times and every time i try this freaking box pops up and asks me if i want to allow this program to change and this time it gave me a new black box with alot of written stuff. but it did it before but still AVG is in there.

What about that Mcafee you wanted me to get rid of? I tried 3 times and it is still there AND I DID RESTART :)

I am confused again... IObit, does it have anything with "Advanced System Care" to do? Or can I safely keep my Advanced System Care, that i just bought?
But it seems I should remove all with the name IObit.... so why did I have to Download the IObit uninstaller? It didnt unsinstall the IObit, but it was a program to uninstall other programs. MAAAN! I am confused..or stupid :-[
It seems there is long way to go, before you get rid of me :(
Is my logfiled saying, that I am clean from malware now, so I can install the Avast I just downloaded again.??

Had to move AVG folders directly to recyclebin, as the programs didnt want to remove them The IObit too. I uninstalled the IOBIT ASC and couldnt get rid of the folders, so I didnit myself. Can I do more?

Now Avast is back on thrack :) and this time it didnt demand the license key, but I want to use it now that I have payes for it, but how can I get it work?

When you purchased it you should have got an e-mail with an attachment avastlic
Do you still have it ?

I just got confused, when the list on uninstall programs i had to download also had an OIbit uninstaller. I thought it was for uninstalling OIbit products, but it was an uninstall program to ununstall all other programs. ???

I think I got rid of everything now.
I installed the new downloaded free Avast. I just need to have the licence file to work. It doesnt work. Nothing happens when i double click on it and press OPEN. It just disappears again, but my avast is still the free edition.

Is it still in the e-mail ?
If so right click the attachment and select save
Save it to the desktop and double click it from there

Yes, it is still in the email and I just copied it into the desktop and double clicced .... nothing happened :(
I attach the email line with the date on it, so you can see it is ok.

OK go to the registration part of Avast and click I have a key then browse to avastlic on the desktop

I finnelly got my pop up problem solved too. There was a check too many in the tab "Advanced" in the settings of my email. SO now I am fully back to normal. Once again I thank you all your great help. :-)
OH, I see I got an answer where you asked "What pop up". Sorry i didnt see that. In the beginning I sent in an attachment of the Pop up message. But now it seems to be solved. :D
