i think my bios maybe not got installed proper...
and the latest drivers only works with the current bios hm

it won't start as the 1st time to install from the 3.5 floppy anymore
my last resort will be to reformat the pc and reinstall win xp

Tanya... I suspected something is wrong with your BIOS update procedure, but can you explain it a little bit more maybe ?

What's the problem with Floppy ? Is it floppy media that's corrupt itself maybe or something else ? Have you tried any other Floppy media ? Try to save your bios file and bios update utility on some other floppy and try it from there...

There must be a way. Even if BIOS is not updated properly, I believe it should give you an option to re-update it one more time...

Tanya i don't know if  i understood you completely, your floppy is now not working?
Can you update your BIOS from Windows?

i downloaded the bios and followed the proceedures (save to a floppy and reboot)--the update started but my pc shutoff (not rebooted) during the process.

everything worked just as dysfunctional as before so i am not sure if it really got installed.
i have heard that if a bios-update failed your system wouldn't start anymore

i can use the floppy, but when i reboot...(with the floppydisc containing the update) the pc won't start the update as before...instead windows xp starts.

i don't know how to do it other ways

Once you updated your BIOS, settings in your BIOS went back to default settings, so I guess that's where you lost booting option from your floppy...

Than I guess boot priority got screwed up... you have to enter your BIOS, and find the boot priority section, then set your FLOPPY 3.5 inch to boot first, your CD rom to boot second, and then hard drive.

I also think now that your BIOS is updated actually... otherwise, most likely you wouldn't be able to boot at all... anyway, it's always good to check.

this is weird...

when i put down the screen the machine shutsdown to wait-mode--
-thats normal.

when i the shut on the power it starts on the same webpage or windows as before i locked down the screen or shut off that way.

but now, after some secs after the pc shutsoff to wait-mode-
-it shuts on the power again automaticly. 

so the pc is runnin and screen on
what can cause this?

i shopped a new and better pc, my notebook had a hardware error.
