what kind a virus is this and where does it come from?
 here is the name of the virus: u]Win32:Trojan-gen. {VC}[/u]
Can you please tell me what kinda it is and where it comes from Thank you...

can that virus come from my brother because he downloads weird stuff and most of the time the virus come from his downloads files on the computer?

yes it could does he use P2P like kazaa? or newsgroups?

yes he uses  P2P kazaa and win MX but mostly use kazaa alot.

No that is not from a P2P NEtwork. it is Spy or Adware. Yyou can use Adware or Spybot to clean it or just make a boardsearch for Winstart. You will get several hits.

BTW: It would be intresting to see a Hijackthis Log from that PC: http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

so where does it actually come? from cause  on the warning thing it says my brother's name and then it has a / to put my name cuz im the one thta found the virus

and study the results.

Use the infos you found with the help of google: http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/i/igetnet_v5.asp
or
Use Adaware(www.lavasoftusa.com) or SpybotSD(security.kolla.de)

or kill the Winstart001.exe Task with the Taskmanager and let Avast clean it
or
Start the PC in safe mode and let Avast clean them.

I would prefer the Adaware/Spybot solution.

the file is located in the C:/local disk under WINDOWS and once im in the that file there is a file name System i ran a seach on to see where is the actually virus and its in the system sile and there is file named "winstart001" and that the one that has the actually virus
what do i do now?
