Avast should be able to remove it. Did you run a scan in safe mode? If not the infected file might be in use and therefor can not be repaired/deleted.

Which operating system do you have? If its Windows Me or XP,than you need to turn off System Restore.

Its enough, when you turn it off, everything gets deleted, including virus. Now just check the system again,so you'll be sure its gone :)

Well if you need it ;D I noticed that its just eating up my precious small disk space and storing viruses, but when i needed it,there was no effect to solve minor problems. So this is the first thing i turn off when i install WinXP ;) You can turn it of ofcourse, but don't forget to scan system again,so you'll be 100% sure its clean.

Hi  thumper
Just joined Forum and found your message.  I too am very computer illiterate.  Nice to find a soul mate!
I'm running Avast Home Edition and am very happy with it but I keep getting a notification about this same "virus" every time I log onto the net.  I delete it but back it comes again.   I suppose I should be pleased that Avast finds it but it is annoying.   Did you have any feedback from your message?
Tregards

Sorry all those who posted replies - I've found them now.
I'll try the System Restore thing
Thanks

This forum has a wealth of information available to all - Your first port of call should be to check the forum search tool to check for the name, has anyone else had the problem - was it resolved - how. It is probable that you were not the first to have the problem. A search on ncasespy returns many posts.

Then check google for a search of the reported name, tis can give you a good idea of the virus/trojan, etc. and help to defeat it.

Use the tools first, it is often quicker than waiting for a repeat answer to the problem.
