I'm having issues running OTL. It keeps being unresponsive when it begins "Scanning Modules."

Malware is gone  8)

It is necessary to uninstall the ComboFix :
  • Click Start (or ) then Run.

    On Windows7 or Vista you may use Start Search field if Run is not available.

  • In the line of text type in (Copy) the following:
Code: [Select]
ComboFix /Uninstall
    Note that there is a space between " ComboFix " and " /Uninstall " .

    • then click OK (or press Enter ).
    Wait for the uninstall process is complete.

    Run OTL and hit the cleanup button.

    I've uninstalled combo fix. I'm having an issue when running games where they lag when they did not before the infection. Would it have something to do with the messages about not finding sbmpar.dll and wmdvi.dll on start-up?

    I figured out what was wrong with my wmdvi.dll. It's infected with tojan.midhos. Is there a way to get rid of the virus from the program without removing the whole thing like Malwarebytes seems to be doing?

    * Open Notepad by click start
    * Click Run
    * Type notepad into the box and click enter
    * Notepad will open
    * Copy and Paste everything from the Code box into Notepad:

    Code: [Select]
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "sbmpar"=-
    "wmdvi"=-

    NOTE: Make sure there are NO blank lines before REGEDIT4
    NOTE: Make sure there IS one blank line at the end of the file.

    * Go to File > Save As
    * Save File name as Fix.reg
    * Change Save as Type to All Files and save the file to your desktop
    * Close Notepad, and double-click Fix.reg on your Desktop
    * When it asks if you want to merge the info to the registry, hit YES/OK
    Reboot computers
