Not a problem .. It just happens that I have a zipped version to make it easier

Download bits.zip from here https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/bits.zip
Double click the zip file then extract all to your desktop
Then double click the bits.reg file on the desktop
Accept the warnings
Reboot

run farbar service scanner

Tick "All" options.
Press "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Still not running and to date I have been unable to find a reason for this..  The other malware analysts I am talking to are also in the dark about it

But we are still looking for a fix..

OK I have just had a thought and bandied it around with the guys.. The general concensus is that it will do no harm but may work.. If you are willing to give it a go ?

Open an elevated command prompt
Go Start >  All Programs > Accessories
Right click command prompt and select run as administrator
In the black box type :

sc delete BITS

Reboot the computer

Then merge the bits reg file (if you still have it)

The bits.reg file as per post 15

As I say it will not do any damage but may enable us to reset the bits service afresh
