AVG Kernel error
« on: January 13, 2005, 10:56:57 AM »
Hi all!
My problem is that i've always used Oulook Express. Now i decided tu migrate to Outlook, but any time I start outlook, any time I SELECT a message, i retrieve an popup error: AVG kernel error...

I tried to repair the installation, i removed avast, but even without any avast installation on my pc, I anyway retrieve this message...

Any suggestion?

Thank you!

So, is it AVG or avast! ? ;)
Can you post a screenshot, please?

I never used AVG on that pc...

I'm sorry, but I cannot post a screenshot, because it isn't my pc... as soon as my friend give me it again, I'll take a screenshot...

It's a popup: the title of the window is "AVG Kernel error", and the content of the window is "No Interface". The only button is "OK". Outlook works fine, but this message appears every time i select a mail... so boring...

Ah, other thing... may help you: the provider "Outlook/Exchange (version: 4.5-561)" doesn't start...

The outlook/exchange provider is normally only active if you have Outlook (or exchange) open. If it is closed, the provider will show "waiting for a subsystem to start".

Telling us what OS it is may also help.

It sure looks like your friend have tried AVG on that system.

Checkout this:
To remove in Outlook go to Tools> Options> Other> Advanced Options> Add-In Manager…
Untick the AVG * add in.
In other versions of Outlook will be in similar locations.

And I strongly suggest to install all security patches/updates, including SP2. Now the system is a lot more vulnarable for infections and attacks.
