Problem setting up Avast account

I've registered and confirmed my account at avast.com, and just updated the mobile security app. Checking for new versions says I have the lastest.

When I try to connect the phone to the account, however, I see
Setting up phone Google account registration...
Connecting to the account...

then it says:

"your avast mobile security installation is too old. Please update Avast! Mobile security before registering the device to your account"

any advice?

you have to update both Anti-Theft and Mobile security!

Ah, didn't realise they were separate. Will do, Thanks.


PS: reCaptcha is just abysmal, and they're getting harder to read. It's bad enough for signups but to have it on every post, and then to lose the text of the post when you get it wrong is... whatever the opposite of user friendly is.

It is only for the first three posts, it has to be hard as an anti spam measure to beat the bots.

I am having the same issue.
But, I have checked and both are up-to-date.
Why isn't it working?
