Why don't I see Icon that Avast is running?
« on: January 22, 2005, 04:29:13 PM »
Hi. I just installed Avast and wanted to know why I don't see any icon that indicates Avast is running. I read that the program runs silently in the background upon boot up and that a "A" icon would be next to the clock at the bottom toolbar. I don't see this and am worried my system is not protected.
Please help. Thanks!

What is your OS?

I would suggest that you try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
