Hello,
I'm having the same problem as Tweaker, and wanted to see if the solution was the same.
I have Avast, and keep getting an alert, sometimes 12 in a row related to t.mclarenz.net.  Then I start hearing 3 -4 audio advertisements coming through the computer.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Could you run the following programmes please and attach the logs

Download OTL  to your Desktop
Secondary link
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

  • Select All Users
  • Select LOP and Purity
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in
netsvcs
BASESERVICES
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
c:\program files (x86)\Google\Desktop
c:\program files\Google\Desktop
dir "%systemdrive%\*" /S /A:L /C
CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Attach  both logs
THEN

Download aswMBR.exe ( 4.5mb ) to your desktop.
Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it  Click the "Scan" button to start scan

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply

Is this what you're referring to?
The ads seem to have stopped.  Haven't had a pop up in about 10 hours.

I seem to be having the same problem as the other 2 people in this thread: problems with Firefox loading correctly, multiple audio ads playing with no discernible source, and the occasional crash (which actually happened just before posting this). Do you think you could give me a hand as well?
