New feature requests for Network Monitor
« on: September 30, 2012, 07:05:02 PM »
I love the network monitor, but I feel that it can be more useful:

1.  Let the user enter their data plan information (such as data limit, start date, monthly, etc...) and provide a progess meter to show how much data they have left in their plan. This would be nice to have as a widget for easy monitoring.

2.  The network monitor statistics should filter on the plan dates (like if my monthly plan starts on the 7th of the month), it should show usage from the 7th of the current month through the 7th of the following month.

2.  Allow the user to reset the data statistics.

Fully agree. Other services do that, like Dodol for instance.

about resetting statistics: thats possible, just disable and enable network meter in settings. this will reset the stats.

I tried unchecking the network monitor in settings and rechecking, but when I go back to the network monitor stats, they are still there from before, and haven't been zeroed out.  Also, one thing I noticed as far as tracking data, if an app gets uninstalled, that data usage will be subtracted from the usage stats.  In order to get an accurate account of data usage over time, it should still show data usage from apps even though uninstalled.
