Why must Avast give multiple daily warnings about renewal?
« on: November 17, 2012, 03:38:33 AM »
Hello,

Beginning 30 days prior to my Avast subscription expiring, I began receiving multiple warnings about the due date EACH DAY.  It is highly annoying, because I'm not going to spend the money until closer to the date.  This causes me to wonder whether other anti-virus companies play this game.  Avast is good, but so are many others.  If the intent is to harass me into renewing very early, what it's actually doing is causing me to want to drop Avast.

Thank you.

Avira does it, exactly 30 days ahead. I'm sure others do as well. Never bothered me really as it does you.
Think on the bright side - you go on a long business trip. Might as well update before going in order not to miss it and leave the family unprotected.

Plus, you can use Avast Free and it will not cost you any money.

Every other anti-virus program does the same thing. That is so you, or anyone else, will not forget and therefore use your computer on-line without protection.

Malware is written more often today than at anytime in the past. No anti-virus company wants your computer on-line without being protected. Don't take the warnings personally as not everyone remembers as well as you do. The programs have to make sure everyone is protected ... not just you, but everyone.

I also began receiving such warnings yesterday. And there was said that if I buy lisence for the next 1-3 years right now these periods will be added me after the end of my current lisence period.  But after buying and applying new lisence yesterday for the next 2 years I saw that realy it isn’t so. My current license ends on December 14. 2012. After applying the new license avast! said that now my license ends on November 16, 2014.  Lost almost a month!

Well, Folks, I do appreciate the info that all the others do it, too.  I guess I'll just put up with it for two more weeks.  Hopefully it won't become so routine by then that I forget to actually renew...

Take care!

The regular forum members always point a user to that email address if there is a license issue, so that it might be resolved.
