VRDB or some thing else?
« on: February 13, 2005, 08:32:14 PM »
I will be using my computer and all of a sudden my Hard Drive starts making noise. The sound is exactly the same sound when the hard drive boots up except the cycle chucking noise will continue for maybe ten rep's then the sound stops and starts again for a number of cycles.
Is this the VRDB going into my system and backing up files and gathering information?I hope so.
If not some one is getting into my system.
If some one has an idea please forword explantion to:  DEddyB@comcast.net .

Thank you ,
Dennis Biernott.

Is there a blue ball with a "I" in it spinning next to your clock?
If so the VRDB is being generated.

If the ball is not spinning while the drive is busy it is not the VRDB generation causing it.
Depending on the settings you made, the VRDB is normally only generated when the system is idle or when the screensaver is active.
