+1 to both of you.

Over the past year, have had many instances where Avast! blocked and prevented the infection from ever running on this system in the first place, just so you know.
Windows 11 Home 23H2
Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Avast Premier Security version 24.8.6127 (build 24.8.9372.868)
UI version 1.0.814

This comes as an additional bonus for being involved here.
Thanks to the avast community most of us here are free of malware and have been so for quite some time.
For me that counts up to years and years...

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

It was my 14th consecutive year without being infected or hacked although attempts were made that were always blocked by my AV solution at the time. Starting with McAfee, then Norton for 10 years, then Comodo, and now Avast for the last 18 months. No reformats or OS reinstalls either in all that time on 4 different machines.

Almost three years for me. The last time I had an infection was when I had A-V-G.
I am sooo glad my son told me about avast. Him and his wife have been using avast for about five years
without any infections.  8)

Happy new year everyone!
I have been using avast! for several years, and I can assure anyone its free version is the best free antivirus solution.
I have not used a paid antivirus in years, but avast! Free is all I need.
