Sandbox problem
« on: January 08, 2013, 12:20:37 AM »
Hi,
Yesterday evening I thought I would investigate usage of the Sandbox.
But when launching IE (7) or Outlook Express (6), I have a unfixable problem
with "Data execution prevention" and the program Dr Watson dump.
I can't even close the message box, every button is inactive, and the Task
manager doesn't always help me to kill the process.
Then my only option is to close my session (which isn't an admin one) :-(

Info : I launch by a right click on "Launch in sandbox" in the contextuel
menu of the application. Please realize that my translation of the menu
option might be slightly different from the English version, since - I have
set the French language.

Well, I wouldn't say I urgently need this function, but I'm curious about the
reason why it can't work on my system (XP SP3, Avast pro 7.0.1474)

Thanks for your attention

Have you tried a "repair"? Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>Double click "avast">scroll to and click "repair">reboot.  :)

Thanks I'll try that, but... I wouldn't like to loose my personal settings..?!
Is there an option to save them, BTW ? I failed to find one.

Yes, Avast > Settings > Maintenance > Backup settings

There is no need to back-up settings if doing a "repair". If you are uninstalling to re-install then a back-up would be advised.  :)
