so what's up with Freecell?
« on: February 24, 2005, 12:10:56 AM »
Hi, I'm new this week - changed to Avast free edition on the recommendation of a friend.  But since then, Freecell doesn't work.  I've searched the forum and found that this is a big problem - lots of people say so though I don't see a solution that will help.  I get a message saying 'Program error - integer divide by 0' and have to close the program.

What I can't understand is if it's such a big problem, how come it hasn't been resolved? Surely it can't be rocket science. Freecell is no big deal but we like to tinker with it occasionally.  Perhaps I'll change back to my old av software.

In order to solve a problem, it must be reproducable in the test lab. And to my knowledge sofar it wasn't. Only a very few people have this problem so it is very hard to trace what is causing this.

And you can ofcourse try another freecell version.

do check igors thread in the above post.  Specifically the tool to download to fix this problem.   I had a problem with Freecell and Avast myself and the tool finally fixed it for me.
