As we have just released our new major version (V8), we would love to hear your feedback. So, how did we do?

It's great. I love it.
191 (28.4%)
So far so good. It is an improvement over V7 but we will see.

About the same as V7
50 (7.4%)
I don't like the new version. Where can I get the download links for V7?

Dislike intensely the GUI, reverted to v7. Also had problems with significantly slowed down browsing speed. Avast 7 is great and I will stick with it until you come up with something better.

Well, it is very good antivirus, but i have to say that the UI of the free version isn't good. If you make the free antivirus to be with the Paid UI colours, it would be better for the eye. The combination of black and soft green is so cool. The interface of Norton Internet security is the best i have ever seen(i mean the combination of colours). ;)

I personally judge my AV by the protection if offers.
Everything else is secondary and another bonus.

I actually like the interface but this is immaterial.
I do my configurations and then thats it,.I dont open the interface again unless there is a problem.

I think this is bullshit ....
I got had backscreen error
And fixing it
Now windows says "windows ran into problem "
And then it collect info and try to repair then it say to restore but restore doesn't work
And all my 1 year or programming is in that computer .....

So that's why I think this is bullshit ....

I personally love avast .... But it was before .
I have used it since I was 10 year old
On my windows xp . Vista .  7

But now ...... The new coders are f*cking idiots


These are the reasons I hate avast now...

Of course you have a backup of your 1 year of computing on that computer ?

It is important for all instances not just this one to have a robust backup and recovery strategy - this is best done in the form of hard disk imaging software that makes an exact copy of the partition/s that can be recovered in the event of an emergency.

I've always been a fan of Avast until my license expired and I had to purchase and download the new version. My firewall is not on and no matter what I try to do, I can not turn it on. Any inquiries about this issue will be greatly appreciated!

Repair avast!:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> avast!
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Note: If this doesn't help, start a new topic as suggested by true indian.
