Help...Problem update virus definition avast 8.

I just upgrade my program from avast 7. After that I notice the interface CHANGE totally which appeared to be avast 8. I try to update my virus definition but zero progress after few hour....but the main page display everything up-to-date,all shield activated.....which make me confused whether it's up to date or not...

I have tried to restart the system, but still the same...not progress at all. Anybody can Help..PLEASE!!! THANK YOU!!

Try the below first.

- avast! Virus Definitions Update - Manual Download VPS Update (virus definitions, vpsupd.exe, approx 78.4 MB). - Save the file to your hard disk, locate where you saved it and double click it and that should carry out the virus definitions update. If you have avast 8, the one you want is the one for avast versions 5/6/7 it is the same for 8.
