Installation issues of FREE Avast
« on: March 12, 2013, 08:59:10 PM »
 Hello everybody,

Could somebody please assist me with installation of free avast. I downloaded avast, run it but as soon as it get to the final bit there is unhappy smile with message: Avast could not be installed.

What is the issue causing that kind of  problem?
Thanks for the replies.

what AV did you use before avast?
did you uninstall it before installing avast?
did you run the vendors removal tool to clear any leftover files that may conflict?

tools found here.   http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/

recovery cd
meaning you sett it back to factory specc?

did your comp come with a preinstalled AV from factory.....like a 90 day Norton / McAfee / TrendMicro
if so, is that AV now reinstalled?....if that is the case it must be uninstalled before installing avast
see how in my first post
