I ran a boot time scan the other night and AVAST picked up several suspicious files. I was looking through the logs, as one file seems to be recreated every so often and AVAST then quarantines the new copy. I loaded the log into Notepad and went back to look at it and there is a message, like a Windows error box, that says "Reload" at the top, the location of the file and the message: "This file has been modified by another program. Do you want to reload it?" I'm not sure what to do; I'm wondering if there is a way to see WHAT program modified it. Since running the boot scan, my Windows is now "not genuine" and I have had several suspicious errors. If the logs are being modified by something still in the system, that would be a problems, obviously. Or would it have been "modified" by the Notepad ++ program? Anyone familiar with what this means? Thanks for any info!
