VBS:LoveLetter in System Volume Information?
« on: March 05, 2003, 06:30:51 PM »
Did a clean install of Windows XP Home on my computer on Saturday.  Tuesday I installed Avast 4 and updated the data base.  This morning (Wednesday), I had a virus notification that file A0005012.vbs in C:\System Volume Information\_restore{whole bunch of numerals and letters}\RP33 was the VBS:LoveLetter virus.

I have received no attachments in Outlook 2002 since I installed XP on Saturday.  Could this be a real virus or most likely a false positive?

TIA,
Erich

Hardly a false positive (LoveLetter is quite characteristic), but to be sure, we need the file. Could you please send it to support@asw.cz ?

Thanks
