What are "Remote Shares"?

I suppose "Remote share" means network share files. Something like \\192.168.0.2\Share\data.txt

Just called avast! tech support, no dice. They suggested i look in the downloadable manual. Downloaded the manual. No dice.

Tried creating a support ticket, support server issues.

That seems a reasonable supposition.

I can post in this thread with details after i hear from avast! e-mail support, provided they have information to relay...

     "Do not scan files on remote shares
      it's mean
      Does not scan the files that it reads from the remote device"

Remote share, network drive, network share (as opposed to local disk and removable devices)... that's the place where the files are not scanned if this option is enabled.
