Not directly. If you use SSL/TLS from your email client, the traffic is encrypted and NO external virus scanner can read it. Do a search on "SSL email" here in the forum to find instructions on how to set up Stunnel and the Open SSL library to enable avast! to support it. You need to send your mail unencrypted to avast! for scanning, then to an SSL proxy (Stunnel) for encryption/decryption of the link to your mail servers. Actually a transparent one time setup.
