Browser Integration
« on: April 02, 2013, 12:15:41 AM »
It shows that I have the Google Chrome Browser but I don't.  I hate that browser so how can I change the settings to where it doesn't show I have it installed?

Well, if you go to Programs applet into Control Panel. Is Google Chrome shown there? Uninstall it... :)

A screenshot would help since you're description isn't very clear.

Hi -midnight,

It looks like you have a security plugin installed for Chrome?

Maybe that's why avast! thinks you have it. Can you confirm?

I just uninstalled a security plug in for a browser I don't have and it's still showing Google Chrome.

Not sure if this will help, but can you try restarting the computer?

Restarted and still showing Google Chrome.  Not a big deal but I'm just wondering why it shows I have it.

Try this - avastUI > Settings > Troubleshooting and check the 'Do not use Chrome as avast! default browser.'

You may nee to reboot, but checking it is no guarantee that it would work as the idea was a theory. If that is unchecked perhaps avast thinks you have Chrome installed so provides the option to have the browser integration for it available.

Even if it doesn't work I would leave it checked.
