My WinXP Volume Icon

After install Avast! my WinXP volume icon no longer wants to display in the taskbar.

This is a lousy WinXP bug.  It's happened before when installing software in the past and has always corrected itself after uninstalling the software.  I'm not so concerned about that I'm just going to turn right around and uninstall Avast for the volume icon in the taskbar.  I put a volume icon in the quick launch toolbar and that's good enough for me.

UPDATE:  My life has become unmanageable since the disappearance of my volume icon.  http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=12153.0
