remove a .dll from safe zone folder
« on: April 20, 2013, 03:03:21 PM »
How do I remove a .dll from the avast safe zone folder?   I run Secunia PSI ver 3.0 to search for programs that need updated on my computer. For Google gears, it says "This program has been discontinued by the vendor. This means that the vendor doesn't support or update it. We suggest you uninstall the program unless you really need it, since there will be no security updates for this program".  The only incident of this file I can find on my computer is C:\Program Files\Avast Software\Avast\sfzone\gears.dll.  When I try to delete it, I get a message saying I need permission to remove this file.  I click continue, the get "Destination folder access denied". I am logged in as administrator, so I don't understand why it blocks me from removing this file.
